Gibson Les Paul, it was 1952 the year Gibson the company and Les Paul the most popular guitarist of the time joined forces to launch their first solid body electric guitar. The launch of this particular guitar is considered to be a defining moment in the history of the electric guitar, as we know it today. The success of this model can be measured by the fact that the basic design concept was used as a template by other manufacturers of the time. Other adventurous designs such as the “Flying V”, Gibson SG, and explorer were launched later in that decade.
